    Information needed???

I have an old Generac generator with a failed capacitor. The OEM part was a Facon capacitor p/n 7G75450N83 45uF +/- 5% 450 volt self-extinguishing generator run capacitor. It appears that this part is no longer available, I have found a few China made ccb60 series caps with the values I need but I don't know how reliable they would be? I did find many motor run caps with the same values but don't know if they would work in my genny. I figured I'd ask here since you have much more knowledge then I regarding capacitors so any information or thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks to all

Recapping Sony ICF-SW55 - verifying cap values
    by proxneo
    Dear reader

I am performing a repair on a Sony ICF-SW55, which includes recapping (some) of the SMD capacitors on the mainboard. I am looking for verification of their values. At the moment, I'm 95% sure I've got the right values, but it is hard to find some official, credible or multiple independant sources on this.

At the moment, I have selected replacements based on the following list of values:

    3 x 470uF 10VDC
    3 x 4.7uF 35VDC
    4 x 47uF 50VDC
    8 x 22uF 6.3 VDC
    1 x 220uF 6.3VDC
    5 x 100uF 6.3VDC

    Which...

I played around with the resistors on the back of the battery connector but forgot to take good measurements beforehand.
can anyone help with the correct values of the attached resistors?

Wind generator charger schematics (or load of baloney ?)
    by Dannyx
Good day folks. A former colleague of mine recommended me to a relative of his and I got to speak to this man today in person. He's a bit of a mad scientist/tinkerer sort-of guy - just my kind of weirdo Apparently this chap builds all sorts of generators and wind turbines in his little shop at home and sells them here and there. He even showed me some footage of some of his inventions in action out in the field. However, as he himself very kindly put it, he's not good with electronics - he just designs and builds the generators (from scratch, I might add) and turns to others for the electronic...

    Inverter Generator Repair
    by PM5K
I have an inverter generator that has two bad caps. One blew and the other was swollen.

My main issue is that the power supply
is encased in some type of epoxy.

My main concerns are regarding the epoxy and its purpose. I can imagine that it helps with vibration should I also be concerned with sparks since it's a gasoline generator?

The plan is to break off the old caps, cut the old legs off, clear out the solder points, then solder from the top since I cant get to the backside of the board.

This means that the legs of the caps...
