is this leakage acidic or alkanine caustic?

Often see this brown leakage from Nichicon PF series (quaternary ammonium salt compounds type) from the 1990's

is this leakage acidic or alkaline caustic?

Ammonium chloride reacts with a strong base, e.g. sodium hydroxide, to release ammonia gas:
    NH4Cl + NaOH → NH3 + NaCl + H2O
probably a weak acid, but don't hold me to it i only got a low passing grade in chemistry.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Corsair HX 750W - DC Leakage at 12V Output Rail in Standby Mode
      by прямо
Just received it today from a friend.
Auto shutdown by the supervisor IC because of an under voltage condition with 12V output rail (dropped to 10.5V)

The same rail also does this when the PSU is in standby mode.

      https://ibb.co/5TBkg66

The leakage keeps climbing at a steady rate but slowing down when it reaches over 800mV or so. I didn't measure exactly at what value it stopped or if it's even stopped at all.

      What could have caused that?

First time I have seen such behavior.

3.3V and 5V rails don't have the same...

      DELL LATITUDE E5450 - +RTC_CELL Leakage
      by titomno2
      Hello,

Motherboard (ZAM70 LA-A901P Dell Latitude E5450) not starting (no short on the main line).
When insert ac plug I have noticed the PU100 is hot, 3.3V is only 1.05V (may vary a bit) and also PD3 is hot.
I firstly removed PC1 (after wrongly mesured a short to ground) => Still PD3 ot.
I replace PC1 (when my mistake discovered) => Still PD3 hot.
I removed PD3 and PR1 (PU100 is fine and I can mesure the 5V and 3.3V correctly), I presume there is a leakage on +RTC_CELL.
So I use BoardViewer 2.0.1.9 (Beta) which is a great tool and cad of ZAM70 LA-A901P...

      Current leakage MS-16J91
      by trufla
      Hello !

Got a dead laptop not turning on due to shorted main power delivery rail mosfets. The mosfets have been replaced and the laptop turns on and posts now but here comes the train... Now there is a current leakage somewhere... I can feel the electricity when i touch the heat sinks ... Note: heat sink screwed in to the boards ground. Any idead where to look for a cause of this issue ?
      Any input much appreciated !

low leakage or low impedance caps?
      by as1jc
ive been given a panasonic tc32lx60 which to get working only needed the main power supply filter cap changed and two fuses. its a 2006 model with probably beaucoup hours on it, want to recap the whole set as its got only about 30 e caps in it. i went ahead and wrote up a cap values list but i wasnt sure about the types of ecaps that were used. in my audio experience a low impedance cap is used in filter or bypass applications. a low leakage is used in the signal path , theres a variety of types in the set and the nichicons i can figure out but theres some rubycons that were green that im not...
