    Medion with bad caps

My family bought 4 of these PCs from Aldi Foods. 3 of the 4 ended up with bad caps. One was replaced by Medion (it was within 2 years of purchase). I sent my daughter's board to Badcaps.net to replace the caps. That PC is working very well. Great job, great price! I intend sending my Grandson's board to them after the holidays. Mine is the only one that is still working. I never shut it down, should I be concerned after all this time? Why hasn't there been a class-action suit filed on the bad cap installed by MSI?

    Re: Medion with bad caps

Well, most of those Medion / MSI crap cap board become some kind of cap related quirks some time. But as long as you do not use it heavily, you won`t notice it. But if you someday replace the GFX or cpu with a faster more power hungry one, than you probably would have instantly problems. But as most prople who purchased an MEDion system are probably non gamer and probably only use those systems as word procesing machine, they probably won`t notice any problems until the warranty is long long expired. The psu`s caps are usually death before the board`s ones are. This is due to the very low airflow (well, people like silent systems, Medion provided them...) and the high ambient temperature within those psu`s. For most people, recapping of board & psu should fix those systems until the end of their usfull life.

In generall, i have not seen many burned Medion / MSI boards, thus i would not assume, that there could be some catastrophic failure caused by badcaps on those systems. May be, a bad PSU would affect the HDD, but i think, that the system would probably show other errors prior to hdd dammge.
