Is their a great Korean capacitor company?

Is there a great Korean capacitor company with the track record as good as a Rubycon or Panasonic or Chemicon or Nichicon??

as in no bad caps, or perhaps just a single series or so, out of millions made.

my boss has specified that all of our caps we use must be manufactured in Japan or Korea.

Don't forget about Suncon, the factory that made Sanyo's electrolytic capacitors (sanyo exited business, same factory makes the caps with same materials under suncon brand)

In South Korea, not so much.

The one I know of is Samwha , which is Samsung's factory (or something to that effect)... but they're not that great.

I would recommend you tell your boss to consider Taiwan more than Korea... Teapo is taiwanese and does decent capacitors, certainly better than Samwha.

Also, depending on what you use the capacitors for, I'd have no problems recommending Ltec. Even Su'scon may be good (http://www.su-scon.com.tw/) - I've seen them in plenty of monitors (LG in particular) but i'm yet to see a bulged or bad one.

      ps. it's "is there".

ps2. There's also Taicon , which is owned in a large part by Nichicon. They have a factory in Taiwan as well : http://www.taicon.com/product/en-index.htm Delta used to use them a lot, Corsair uses them lately in their high end power supplies.

well normally I love Taiwanese products, but weren't 95% of all of the badcaps featured here on badcaps.net from Taiwan?

what about Chemicon? - their record has been near flawless (except for KZG and KZJ) - certainly as good as Nichicon!

I don't think so, the majority are probably Chinese. But I'm not that old in this business of fixing stuff.

Also, consider that you're bound to find more Taiwanese and Chinese capacitors in hardware you get, simply because there's more equipment out there made with them, cheaper equipment on which corners may be cut (inadequate HOT heatsinks near capacitors, poor quality transistors etc) which makes capacitors die or go bad prematurely.

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition
              by MORETTIGIAN
              Title:
Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

              Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.

              Procedure performed:
              - Removed backplate
              - Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
              - Reapplied thermal compound
              - Reassembled card

              Observed behavior after reassembly:
              - GPU powers on and operates normally under...

              RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
              by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

Dick Smith Q-1760 linear power supply filter capacitor question
              by Agent24
I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.

The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.

Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
              All are CapXon...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
              by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...

How can I test non-polarized capacitor?
              by chth96
I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm

And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...
