    Rubycons are really good!

I have been working this past week for my dad taking apart old Ford mainframes for scrapping. These things were built over 20 years ago, most of them have tags with "Aug. 1984" on them.

Anyway, on a certain part of them there are capacitors. Some of the only ones in the machine, actually. I was looking, and none of them are blown or even bulging. I took a closer look, and nonetheless I see the Rubycon logo on them. I must say I was impressed. These things are fairly large capacitors (slightly bigger than what is around the socket on today's motherboards) that that most likely were running 24/7 for over a decade (it is my knowledge that they were in storge for some time, I don't know how long).

I don't know the point of me posting this, just thought it was interesting. If I ever need to recap anything I know what I'll be using, Rubycon. I'm also happy to see that on my new Abit NF7-S there are nothing but Rubycons on it. Gives me some sense of security from capacitor-based problems since I plan on continuing use of this computer long after it is no longer my main machine.
