    Crap capacitors, probably, nothing special.

Replace with any good brand 1000uF 25v capacitor (Nichicon, United Chemi Con, Panasonic etc)

      Many Thanks to you.
That will help us to solve a Power supply problem.
The small and cheap caps will stop a whole production line in factory.

That logo appears on many capacitors sold by Farnell under the "Multicomp" name.

I only use them for general purpose stuff. That website says they have a low ESR series. Can't say I'd trust them to last long!

Multicomp is Farnell's house brand, sort of like every mall chain has their own cheaper products in plain packaging under their own brand.

They order from various manufacturers... for example I ordered resistors and different fixed value ones came from China, Taiwan and India and they were labeled in the same series.

They aren't necessarily bad, you just can't be sure you'll get the same degree of quality between orders.

This company at least it's Taiwanese and it seems like an old established company, but still the long term reliability is unknown, at least to me... and you don't know if this company uses cheap Chinese aluminum or other substances with varying degrees of quality.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying, every time I've ordered 'Multicomp' electrolytic capacitors they've had that logo on them - the diamond with dots on each corner.

              Hi all!

I just bought a pair of ADS L810 speakers, which I've heard are some of the best speakers from that time (late 70's) into the early 80's. I was super excited to test them out and hooked them up and I was very underwhelmed by the treble. The treble was awfully muffled. I've been doing some restoration work on 70's stereos and a couple of speakers here and there so I am really just a beginner. I do know that capacitors in speaker crossovers filter out the lows to allow only the highs up to the tweeters and mids. Inductors filter out the highs to allow the lower frequencies to...

              Korea Chemi-con

I recently got a hold of a H/K AVR 7000, currently doing a close inspection of components. It uses an array of cap brands: Yec, ELNA and Korea Chemi-Con. There's evident heat effects; metal discoloration, cold/broken solder joints....and some swollen caps:

For certain I'm replacing these units, but interesting the ESR readings are excellent and the capacitance is at spec value.

Never seen such stressed caps that still measure as OK....

Something is knocking at Nippon Chemi-con
              by kasfamily
I am repairing the crown k2 amplifier, bad soldering of Nippon Chemi -con capacitors and found a knock in one capacitor. I checked its capacity and ESR - everything is fine, it meets the parameters. The question arose whether this capacitor will work normally?
