    Upgrading laptop hdd question

I've got a hp dv6000 laptop with a 120gb hdd in it and want to put in a 250gb hdd i salvaged from another laptop. My question is where can i find a free reliable cloning application that someone here has personally used and can vouch for? The 120 gb hdd thats in it is still good, i just want some more space. It is partitioned 100 gb for C and 20 for recovery D. I do have a external usb sata enclosure that i'll be using. I know it will take a while to clone using the usb but thats all i have for now. Any help would be appreciated.

If the drive you have is Western Digital or Seagate, then you can dowmload free utilities for cloning the drives.

        Re: Upgrading laptop hdd question

Pretty much most of the major manufacturers offer free cloning software in their support sections. Only makes sense, since many people want to clone their existing drive to a larger drive. Just go to the support section of the manufacturer of the 250GB drive for the software.
