    Acer extensa 5635 restarts continuously

    Hello!

I have Acer extensa 5635-652g32mnkk with Intel core2duo/ac82gm45/af82801IBM.

    Problem:
When i plug dc jack and push the power button a few seconds after is turned off.
I replaced processor, memory,dc adapter but the problem remained.
Downloaded BIOS from Acer's website and written into the
    ic.But, now the problem persists.

I replaced with a new one Winbound WPCE775LA1DG But, now the problem persists.

Any help of any kind will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ago I had a similar problem and solved it and
Unfortunately I could not find schematic.

alltough if machine force shutdown (KBC send to signal to shutdown) doesn't mean the problem is on the KBC , if is shutding down after S5 , than there is a problem in the board , my advise is to chek all STATES after turning on the board before replacing or doing anything else .
could be even a BGA related problem (for ex) and you allready assuming KBC is faulty , many times here we dont find schematic , our only way out is (or finding schematics that have same kind of IC's for we can chek pinout , or like KTMMOTOCROSS mentioned chek diagrams for the Ic itself.

Re: Acer extensa 5635 restarts continuously

I repaired some motherboard replacing the GPU, but no always you can check that.
Ejample: In some motherboard when I think is GPU, I removed the GPU and motherboard doesnot shutdown, so I know it is GPU problem and I replace it with new one.
But most GPU has a signal named powergood and if this signal missed, KBC shutdown the motherboard.
So, if GPU is damage, KBC will shutdown the motherboard.
If you remove the GPU, or discconect the GPU, KBC will miss GPU powergood signal and shutdown again.

So, I am not sure how to check if GPU is the problem or not.

              **NEW**
I tried the Acer website the latest bios. written on the chip: the machine is switched on after a few seconds, turn off and start again but it only turn off when I press the button.
This is as if GPU /ac82gm45/ problem would be.

If I understand correctly, check the GPU / ac82gm45 / or KBC chip pins.
Which pins with a multimeter and scope worth checking out?

              Picture

many thanks in advance for your help!
Very good community! and Sorry for my english

It does not have a dedicated gpu just graphic northbridge.
                  Thanks for the tip.

On mine was the dedicated graphics card. After i press the power button it stayed on about 3 seconds but no image and shutdown immediately. After i done a reflow on the nvidia chip it didn't give a problem until now (i've done it 2 weeks ago).
