in this model failure of the led strips is very common, if you have a bench power supply apply 76 volts dc to the panel and it should light up, , a simple test for the psu board is to make a small box with 22 while leds in series and two croc clips , this will give you instant diagnosis with no time spent, however I must warn you I have had these strips go intermitent, one set I had ran for 3 days solid and then the back light went off one led o/c , charles hyde can now get the led stips to order from vestel ,
In the 40 inch Toshiba sets with a samsung screen and the pulse width modulator built into the screen itself the most common fault of no or intermitent backlights is nothing more than a dry joint on the backlight plug/sockets, the strips are joined in the center by white plug/sockets, you will see the connectors have gone brown and do not measure zero ohms.
As for the upside down pic , some vestel screens are mounted upside down with the LVDS board at the bottom of the screen, this indicates you have loaded the wrong firmware.
Sordids gave me his board, and it was not the firmware ! I loaded the proper firmware for that panel and it was still messed up and upside down with lines, swapping the board fixed it slightly odd however dont think it was the firmware.

You never know what I may be able to help you with ! I love vestel sets , always have done since the CRT days.
What would be nice if some one here is into code dissasembly and writing could write a program where you insert a USB stick into a working set and it downloads the program onto the stick , I know this can be done because on some models you can do this but only to store customer settings /tuning ETC for hotel use.
Ahh right fair play, Vestel made CRT's ? I will make a new thread when I compress the firmware and upload it then.

I have loads of vestel schematics, big makers like sony, samsung , LG dont even publish service manuals with diagrams in any more, I dont know many people who like vestel sets but its one of the only sets you can fault find to component level , sadley many sets are coming in for repair now fitted with UMC chassis fitted , even sharp have droped vestel and are using UMC chassis.
Its all slowly going to trash, Umc are not too bad better than Vestel IMO but overall both are trash. Also reading Vestels schematic is a nightmare they are just messy and all over the place.
