Burned led on this LG50LN5100

    Burned led on this LG50LN5100

    Hi guys i stripped this LG50LN5100 and found a Burned led,it's the L 8th strip counting from the top; check attach. i don't have 24v dc power sup. but i have 18 and 12 dc,can i use it to check if there are other bad leds? Thanks

    you can just use a digital meter on diode check and it will light up the led if it is good.

      strip is toast pardon the pun.common to see burnups on the ln sets.

        I know it's cut off too,it seems that are no strips of this model;HC500DUN-VCFP1-llXX it's the L on the 8th strip counting from the top,jimmy doesn't have it.

          Thanks jotto; i removed the burned led and soldered the circuit checked with diode position strip by strip and i have about 6 leds bad in the whole board ,i'm going to wait for strips from Jimmy.com he's out of stock now.

            If you don't want to wait, call Pacific Illumination they might be able to make them for you. I used another company years ago before LEDs were installed in LCD units, but I can't remember the name.

            Send them a email at pacificillumination@gmail.com, since this will be a order they might send you to MCM. You will probably have to install your harness to the strip. MCM only sells 12vdc units, didn't see any 24vdc. They are geared to primarily casinos.

              Why not cut up any old LG LED strip, take one complete with lens and piggy-back where the original was

              Use heatsink plaster to stick in place and thin leads to connect up, just align it reasonably accurately so it lines up with hole in the white reflector sheet--Job done!

              Did one just before leaving work today on an LG 32" thing, whole job from back off, to pic on screen 20 mins!

              Simples.....

                Thanks Alastair i only have strips from a 32 inch Sumsung they may not fit
