in my case. i have toshiba with ati gpu. work with external disply likes your. i chnged bios ic and reprogram it. laptop normal again.

Usually lines on boards are checked in diode mode i.e. (lvds line check from Asus training manual)

Use multimeter to measure LVDS Con. Pin signal is correct of Diode value and compare with GOOD M/B.
Check LCDS Data signals,
LADATAP[0:2]
LADATAN[0:2]
Check LCDS Clock signals,
LACLKP/LACLKN

Of course, this way you do not have to remove GMCH.
