    ACER AL2216W trouble

    Hi, I am new here.
In my endeavor to resurrect my monitor, I resurrected this old post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7662.

My Acer monitor gone black the other day, the green power was on but the monitor was black, no Acer logo came on when I power it up.
After some research, I ordered a repair kit replaced all caps.

Disappointed, it seems the problem goes deeper then just a few bad caps but it show a very slight improvement if I may call that. Now when I plug in a video source, it show a very faint image for a very short time (less then 5 seconds) then it goes black.

My question is, This monitor has the exact same DAC-19M009 power supply, I have replaced all caps except the big one near the power cable plug. But the repair kit came with a matching pair MOSFET labelled 40T03GP for which I have no idea where to put them.(this is where I got confused, the original pair has very hard to read label and from the little I could read, I know for sure they do not match.) Am I suppose to replace the two similar looking pair on the heat sink with the new pair?

Oh, the fuse is not blown, forgot to mention.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi - we do not like kits that much - are they good make caps?
I would have thought that in London you would have been able to find somewhere that sold caps to make up your own set.
Anyway - what we do like is pictures, providing they are good.

You may not need to replace any mosfets. You appear to have 2 seconds to black - I attach a link to retiredcaps guide on this subject. I would firstly
test the inverter transformers. When you post pictures I can help you more with that.

    Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

You may have the wrong kit because the 40T03GP is used on the DAC-19M005 power supply.
