Asus 22" lcd vw222u Dim/black at startup

Hello, This monitor starts up with a dim or black screen and some times wierd colours, but when it warms up, it appears normal?

Is this a power related problem, or a main board problem?
I believe this is a typical problem with this model.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like bad caps - they work better as they warm up.

When you get inside check for bloated/leaky caps first. They may be all elite caps which are not the greatest.
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.
