Have you removed the drive and had a look at the cable connectors.
I recently repaired a slim with similar issues. A bit of liquid had entered the top and dripped on the wide ribbon cable and corroded the contacts.
A new ribbon and all was well again.
I found a slim PS3 with an issue like that last summer. Not sure what I exactly did to fix it, but I re-adjusted the eject mechanism and left a DVD inside it, then powered on the PS3, and that got it working. It's been fine since then. I played the entire game The Last of Us and never and issue.
