    Two dead ATX SMPS's - TL494 and FSP3528 based
    by domas
Hello folks, my first post here.

I have killed 2 SMPS recently. Both of them are totally dead except from 5vSB. No other outputs are working.

    First one:
FSP ATX-250PA, controlled by FSP3528 & DM 311 for 5vsb, fsp chip is described here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22171 Killed it by overloading -12V output. I charged a 12V li-on battery pack and i needed more than 12V - i used -12V rail and +3.3V rail. Was going at about 0.2-0.3Amps. Tried -12V + +5V rail as well. Started charging at 4 amps (while my -12V line is rated at 0.5amps) smoked...

    FSP300-60 rev.2
    by fulfunc
    Help people !!

I have salvaged an fsp300-60 that I am currently cleaning up and refubishing to work as a simple desktop power supply for +12v, +5v, and +3.3v
generally going ok BUT troubles with +12v and identifying what the 3 trimmers are for: VR1 is right beside the PS-OK wire, VR2 is righ beside +3.3v wires, and VR3 is at rear of board near fsp3528 chip.

I haven't been able to find any schematics for this unit, just spec sheets.

    +5v is giving me +5.24 --- great
+12v is giving me +11.2v ---jumps to 11.6 if I disconnect the fan

    FSP300-60THA - FSP 3528 datasheet equivalent
    by retiredcaps
The FSP3528 chip is in the FSP300-60THA. It looks like the FSP 3528 is a proprietary chip and I can't find a datasheet on it to see how it works.

There are some schematics on the Internet, but I'm not that skilled at reading them (and they are in Russian).

BTW, I have a good FSP300-60THA and a bad one. I took voltage readings of both.

The bad one only has 5.0V standby on the green wire. When I jumper green to black, I get no secondary voltages and the gray wire is 0.0V.

    Code:
    Good Bad
    pin 1 - 4.99 5.03 VCC
    pin 2 -
