I am looking for an HP 4520s BIOS File with removed whitelist, now I don't know if this forum has modded bioses or not but still no harm in asking. All other sources point to shady indonesian and vietnamese websites & all of the bios-mods.com links are long since dead.

The laptop mentioned is an old HP 4520s thats been in the family since 2010 and was bought brand new. Its since had 2 new displays, 3 new keyboards & 5 batteries replaced and one chassis overhaul from a dead 4525s(only 1 ram stick & mobo remains original at this point, upgraded the cpu literally yesterday)....

I bought a broken ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th gen. with the description "no image on power on". After talking to the seller I found out they tried to unlock the BIOS, but they were trying to dump the BIOS with in-circuit reading. After that, the notebook wouldn't start anymore. It powers up, the fan spins normally, the backlight on the LCD and keyboard is working, and it reacts to the power button.

They don't have original bios dumps. Maybe now it is even EC corrupted?!

Can anyone help me out?

Hi,
my laptop is stuck in a BIOS password loop after I attempted to clear the password (I nulled it) in the BIOS settings. It now freezes after 3 failed password attempts.
I tried to do a clear CMOS, but there is no visible battery. I sent it in for repair, but it didn't work out. I finally decided to dump the BIOS myself using a CH341A programmer.
Could someone please help clear the password/NVRAM region from my dump?

I need the Dell D530 A10 Bios for a retro laptop I got for pretty cheap. Now I would like to tinker with the bios and explore the Penryn CPU debacle that was left unsolved over at the bios mods forum, (cuz those cpus are being scrapped for less than a dollar and all go for the same price. The A11 & A12 are signed Bioses so they cannot be modded.
I scoured the internet for A10, I looked in old websites, the corners of google pages, the internet archive, the wayback machine of dell ftp and broken links and for the life of me I could not find it as if someone had deliberately...

Hi everyone, I have a TH410-D4 motherboard whose security menus, iommu, and other features have been hidden by the manufacturer. I tried making changes to the BIOS, but reprogramming it didn't make them reappear. Unfortunately, there are no adaptable BIOSes available. I have an X1 Extreme Gen 1 that I believe has a corrupted bios and need a new one. I keep getting a black screen and beep code 288 for a display issue. Looking through the release notes there appears to have been a fix for this in a bios update that came out after the manufacturing date of this laptop. I tired extracting the file from the EXE on Lenovo's site but I can't seem to find it using innoextract and 7zip. I think it's provided in multiple parts and I might be missing something while looking for the file.

I am new here and hoping to get some help with my Dell Precision 5510. I am fairly certain that the BIOS is corrupt. I get no Dell logo, no POST, no option to get into BIOS settings. This started after disabling secure boot and attempting to boot from a USB drive. I tried using the firmware recovery steps provided by Dell and have not had any luck with that. So I think the next step is a direct flash to the BIOS chip(s). I have a CH341A arriving tomorrow to do a dump of the current BIOS. What will I need to provide in order to get some help recovering this BIOS?

So I've tried just about everything I possibly can with the ch341 and nothing worked, I don't think I've done it wrong as I spent a solid 9 hours now. And it said my only other solution is to ask for a bios dump for my model:

I have a non booting Clevo N240JU laptop which I think as a bad BIOS as the boards seems OK. I don't think I can link to the official website of Clevo but there's plenty of drivers other there for the N240JU laptop but no BIOS.

• After powering on, the fan runs at full speed
• Caps Lock LED blinks

I have a attached picture where ic's are marked (next to PCH is main bios, next to Nouvoton is EC firmware chip). So I need bin files for these chips, because someone before made a mess with them and they are currently empty.

Hello guys,

I stupidly tried to read out my BIOS & EC flash (with a clamp). This didn't work, I only read FF's. But after this operation, the PC is not longer turning on, just beeps 5 times (and blinks red) then 2 times (blinks white). The manual says this is the error code for: "The embedded controller cannot find valid firmware.".
I think it locked itself because of my experiment. Is this fixable? I now removed both chips from the board and dumped them, I attach the files in this post hoping someone can help me fix my stupid error. Thanks so much in advance anyone...

My Laptop isn't working, and everytime I'm running out more and more of possible explanations for what's causing it.

I already wrote a post explaining the problem a bit in detail in another thread. My computer freezes at random times throughout the day somtimes, and then it reboots. It all started after I replaced the previous motherboard which burned, for a new motherboard.

MemTest86 gave me good results, seriously, help anybody at this point, I would accept the answer that goblins live in your Laptop...

I need some help regarding an EC firmware (Embedded Controller).

After fixing a power supply issue on this board, it turned out that the EC chip was also damaged.
I’ve replaced it successfully, but when I try to program it, I can’t find any EC firmware available.

I’ve already tried:
Extracting the EC firmware from the official MSI BIOS (downloaded from the MSI website),
And also from the original BIOS dump of the...

So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...
