    Dell Inspiron 5567 - KBC Programming

    Hi colleagues. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 with a BAL21 LA-D802P A00 motherboard. The fault lies in the KBC, which is a MEC1404-NU.
    I need to replace it with a new one. I understand that these come blank and I need to program the firmware corresponding to this Dell. But I can't find that firmware. Any ideas on how to solve my problem?
    If I buy a "new" chip, will it work by just reading the BIOS?
    If it can be reprogrammed, what programmer do you recommend?

      Firmware is in the BIOS executable from Dell. You can extract it by using platomav's utilities:

      https://github.com/platomav/BIOSUtilities

      There is a thread on here on how to use it. It's based on Python scripts so there some pre-requisites. But I've attached it here anyway. You'll need some way to program it too with a SVOD or similar.
