ASUS A8N SLI: Preventative Recap --> Replace all six 16v/1000uF KZG caps
    by Ginguskhan
    Greetings fellow Badcaps forum readers!

This a recap of an ASUS A8N SLI (ASUS A8N SLI full specs link Bios Ver: 1014, PCB rev 1.02)

I am doing this as a preventative recap per PCBONES's recommendations; it eliminates all potential capacitors that could go bad (i.e. KZGs) in the most demanding circuit in a MOBO: the +12v VRM Input and VRM output (vCore). Capacitors in the +12v VRM and vCore experience more sustained heat, current and ripples vs. other MOBO circuits; thus, it is a good idea to have good caps in these two circuits. Luckily, my vCore caps are...

Beware! Linksys WPS54G Print Server Bulging Elite Caps
    by Krankshaft
So I recently picked up a used Linksys Wireless G Printserver off E-bay.

The previous owner stated that it was used for near a year and worked well.

I set it up and it worked well for me too but like ALL of my network equipment I crack it open to check up on the caps. Both to see if they are bulging or if they are a bad brand.

I was telling myself while opening it up that I was wasting my time and everything would be fine.

But it was the exact opposite so I open it up and there right before me 2 bulging elite capacitors both 100uf at...

I spoke with BigPope on msn about the 10uF caps these are cheap caps. These are pvc electrolytic caps, I want replace with solid caps, I have found a website who sell some caps, here the links to these caps.

May I have a advise in my choice ? cause do not want to break my sound card ...

Asrock Dual SATA II --- Replaced some Ost caps and other tweaks
    by gonzo0815
I have bought a new board, due to the reasonable price drop for socket 939 cpu`s. As i am currently using a Radeon X800 AGP card, i decided to want native SATA support and an current chipset. So i went for the Asrock DS, wich will oc a little too (wich i can`t do with my older setup, an Semperon 3100 64bit due to Mianboard limitations).
Right out of the boxe i recaped the missing big cap within the VRM, even i don`t know about this strange VRM desing. Most VRM`s are usinge equal numbers of caps on all phases, but not the Asrock DS, and many other current Asrock boards. I used an 3300uF...

    Gigabyte GA-8IDX and GSC caps....
    by stevo1210
    Hello Everyone,

I received a gift today from my younger brother (probably because my birthday is just around the corner )

He came home from his friends place this afternoon and took home a Gigabyte GA-8IDX Rev. 1.0 motherboard.

It's a Pentium 4 socket 478 motherboard that runs on SDRAM.... something that I've wanted for a long time.... I know DDR is better and I have all DDR systems, but I have a boatload of PC133 SDRAM which would cut costs if I plan to use this motherboard.
This motherboard also has 6 PCI slots and an AGP 4X slot which would...
