Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
This is how the Jamicon 216C2(M) 105 ℃ 100 μF 50 V capacitors I mentioned in this post look like after 6 years of everyday usage for about 10-12 hours per day. As you can see, they are clearly bulging, but exchanging them with fresh ones solved the problem once again.
I am still using it, because after 12 years it still works perfectly.Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
I can't edit my post anymore, and Tinypic has removed the picture, so I am uploading it again, because after 6 years the problems have reappeared. Fortunately, we know the solution now...

Yes, you're obviously right. These are surface mount electrolytic capacitors. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
The creamic ones ("100 16V H86", it must stand for 100μF 16V) were replaced with electrolytic Jamicon 216C2(M) 105 ℃ 100 μF 50 V. To be honest, I don't know wheter the Jamicons are Low-ESR or not.
After a few weeks I can say that the monitor works all the time with closed case and there are no problems any more, even when the weather is very hot (>30℃ outside without air conditioning, no problems).
Something like this, but it usually starts with single line and...Last edited by Leontius; 06-16-2014, 12:58 PM.

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
Try replacing the two capacitors marked with yellow circles on this picture:
They can be replaced with electrolytic ones. Worked for me....

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
Flickering is proportional to temperature, the warmer the regulators are, the bigger part of the screen flickers.

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
I have detached and reattached the ribbon cable, no effect.
I don't see how this problem may be panel related given that the monitor works perfectly for an hour after turning it on, and spraying voltage regulators or the GENESIS chip with a cooling spray effects in a minute (or so) of perfect display without flickering.

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
Yes, I think it has. That is, it has some kind of board under metal screening with a ribbon cable connected to the panel.

The hidden letters on the metal screen are "LTM240M2".
So, when I unscrew this board, what should I look for?Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem...l7tm.jpg...

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
Changing the brightness does not have any effect. Refresh rate is set properly. It's the kind of flickering you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfGphxARFY4Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem...phxARFY4

Re: W241D (W240D) flickering Problem
I did precisely what you described and the screen is still flickering, so I suppose that replacing the PS capacitors and voltage regulators doesn't fix the cause of the problem. Using cooling spray to cool the brand-new regulators does work indeed, but it is very inconvenient because it has to be done every few mninutes. The problem is, WHY are the regulators overheating, and I don't have any foggish idea how to answert this question and how to fix it...
So, if somebody did really fix the problem in some other way...
