Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
Fantastic. However, I think I'm missing one thing, I'm replacing the mlcc capacitor C2523, and the fuse F2500 next to the YSUS. What is the resistor you are referring to? Thanks again!...

Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
Good news then!(?) As far as the other boards, based on the information I have provided, they seem to be working correctly? Obviously I know its difficult to be completely sure, I know its difficult to communicate this all through the Internet sometimes, but I suppose this is the best place to start. I assume that if this buffer board was not functioning then I would not have a picture (but still have the primed panel, soft buzzing from the YSUS and XMAIN, as well as a flashing LED on the control board). Thanks again!...

Also, what other tests can I do to delimit the point of failure to just that capacitor and fuse?

Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
Safe to assume that if my DMM isn't beeping when I test the fuse on that board, that it needs replacing then too?

What about the blackened MLCC thing? I assume that needs replacing?

Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
So with zero knowledge about this TV, this buffer board receives power through the YSUS through that connector next to the fuse that seems to be blown. I'm guessing the MLCC is the guy that seems to be blackened. What should I do now?

So, I decided to inspect those buffer boards closer, in particular, one stood out: PCB number LJ41-05512A has something that looked as though it could be burned, it's almost as if the solder is gone. Anyway, here are some photos:...

Re: Samsung PN50A450 No picture issue.
Where does one acquire one of these fuses?

Also, what would cause this fuse to blow? Y-SUS Failure?

Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
That small fuse doesn't cause the meter to beep, reads "1". All other fuses are okay, DMM beeps and I get a "0" reading.

Okay. I purchased the aforementioned DMM. Where do I begin? I have never used a DMM before.

How did you replace this board? I think I may have a blow fuse here as well. Similar TV model, PN50A400C2D. It doesn't look like the fuse just pops out....

When I turn on the TV, LED1 lights up solid for like 1 second, while LED2 flashes steadily for as long as the TV is on.

Ah okay. So the TV flickers then is primed (the glowing).
With the LVDS removed from the main board and pins 3 & 4 jumped on the control board, no test patterns are generated on the panel (still primed)Last edited by stephenhartley; 04-06-2013, 03:42 PM.

Re: Samsung Plasma PN50A400C2DXZA
To be clear, what is meant by the priming of the screen?
My current understanding is that the screen glows quickly, goes out, then comes back on with a steady glow. Is this correct?
