I personally would have used full Panasonic, but NCC KZN works too. It's basically their alternative to Rubycon ZLH, Panasonic FR, and other high-end electrolytics. Go ahead and place the order, that lone KZN can stay if you don't want to use full Panasonic. I personally believe FR is overkill for the fan board, I would have used FS, but either one works. Just don't buy anything GP for there. -
I forgot to mention this, but Nichicon UHV is also GP. That spot had KY for a reason. It may have more ripple or more heat than you might think. I would personally go for Panasonic FS there instead. Here's Nichicon's UHV datasheet, for example:
Ripple current of 410mA-840mA (better than UPV, but still GP)
ESR of 0.18-0.3 depending on size (almost low-ESR, but not quite)
Lifespan of 6000h at 105℃ (low-ESR territory, but that's theoretical)Leave a comment:

For something like Nichicon HE, a 100µF 16V Nichicon HE has a typical ESR of 0.15-0.2 and the ripple current is much better at 210-340mA. This is what you want. I know it may not seem like it, but it is. A Chemi-Con LE of the same value has far worse ESR (0.3-0.45 ohms) and weaker ripple current (120-330mA).Leave a comment:

Yes they are. The Digi-Key spec list said "General Purpose" on all 3. For NCC LE specifically, Chemi-Con's own datasheet said 0.35 ohm ESR with a 330mA ripple rating. This is general-purpose territory. NOT LOW ESR. For the Nichicons, the UPV datasheet shows a HFRC of 410mA. This, is again, NOT LOW-ESR TERRITORY. I know you might think the low-impendence is enough, but trust me, IT IS NOT. Ripple specs and ESR also matter....Leave a comment:

Chemi-Con LE and Nichicon UHV is also general purpose. Don't get those.Leave a comment:

Also, I forgot to mention, but Nichicon UPV is also general-purpose. Chemi-Con KMQ is low-ESR, so I wouldn't replace it with that. Get something like Nichicon HE, Chemi-Con KZE, or Panasonic FR.Leave a comment:

Yes, you can mix-and-match brands. Doesn't matter if they're Panasonics, Nichicon, NCC, Rubycon, or whatever else, you can mix-and-match brands. For those CapXon polymers, I would have gone for a similar series (Nichicon FP, etc.), but Panasonic FM works too. Also, Chemi-Con KMG is general-purpose, not low-ESR. I would have gone for something like Panasonic FS there....Leave a comment:

I already knew they're Japanese-made. I was just pointing this out....Leave a comment:

If I were you and recapping this unit, I would go for Rubycon ZLH/ZLJ, Nichicon HE, or Panasonic FR/FM, and for the primaries: Panasonic TS-ED/TS-HA, Nichicon GU/LGU, or Rubycon MXR.Leave a comment:

I don't know much about EVGA, but I know for damn sure you should avoid modern Chemi-Con. They're not Japanese anymore. They're actually owned by KEMET now, which is a European company.Leave a comment:
