Hi, I'm Alex from California,I'm a musician and gamer.
So, i have a Lenovo legion y540 15irh (81sx). 9th gen i7 ... It originally was on windows 10 when i got it, and apparently the bios boot mode was set to legacy mode.
Well, a few years after warranry ended, and apparently Lenovo recently ended service and updates for this, my keyboard randomly stopped working, but intermittently,
Refreshing windows 10 didnt help. I managed to safely change over the boot mode from legecy to UEFI, i updated to windows 11, but keyboard issues continued.
It would work however if i did a hard power off i believe but once i turn it off or reset, the keyboard stops again..
SO HERE IS THE ACTUAL PROBLEM NOW.
i thought maybe i could try a different bios version. Am older one i seen was recommended in forums.... So whole i was on the latest BHCN45WW, i attempted to backlash to BHCN26WW with the help of chat gpt.
It seems the foash never completed because when i came back to check on the process after seeing the 3 progress bars it displays while changing BIOS versions, the screen was black and power button light blinking...
And now it wont even boot into the lenovo logo image. The novo button behaves no differently than the power button as well
I attempted to extract the bios.fd file from the bios .exe updater from the official site, put it on an mbr fat32 usb and do that whole crisis recovery thing.... But after a dozen or more tries, ive had no luck seeing any more life besides either a blinking power button light, fan on low spinning which starts a few minutes after powering on with the key combo of fn + r or b or also win plus r.
Ive only tried naming the file as bios.fd and bios.cap . The light on the legion logo on the lid does display and the keyboard will light up for a few seconds on power on, and then turn off.
And thats where i am now. And i could use some pointers because the forums aren't offering much and the youtube videos are crezy advanced and hard to understand as well.
I could really appreciate ANY advice from ANYone
