Meanwhile I could get my hands on a supposedly working pcb with a different revision. When I connect this pcb to the display front I only get a white screen, too. But the network "backend" is working and I can get a detailed console output.
Everything except the display (backlight is fine) seems to work with this pcb. The display module should be some kind of 2.4 inch st7789 compatible screen (320x240?) with a 10 pin soldered connector....

I managed to read the eeprom content after I desoldered the chip from the pcb....Leave a comment:

Power on eeprom pins is fine.
I tried to in-circuit read the eeprom content with a cheap CH431a reader but got no connection. Doesn't have to mean anything, because CH431 is known for its unreliable results with this eeprom.
Next step would be to unsolder the eeprom and test. But without a working software doesn't make much sense.
If I don't get it wrong the bare FreeRTOS image could work on the module but wouldn't bring me to a working tuner device?Leave a comment:

Looping output when correct baud rate ist selected:

Hooked up a FTDI interface to RJ11 connector and got some unreadable output every second. Looks like boot looping to me.
Perhaps not easy to solve without a working firmware file...Leave a comment:

Omnitronic TUNA-NET Internet Radio - M1088 Module - any information or software?
I've got an Omnitronic TUNA-NET internet radio with an all in one module built around an esp32. The module must be a M1088 from ALD Ltd.
The device shows only a white display screen pulsing every second. Seems to have some kind of boot issue. All voltages and the pcb thermal signatures look good.
Any information about the M1088 module, schematics or firmware would be helpful....
