  • Can't read 25Q128A SPI chip from a HP 840 G1

I'm trying to read a 25Q128A SPI chip from a HP 840 G1 and the software wont even detect it. I'm wondering if I need an adapter of some kind to make it work.

I tried with windows using the Ch341a included software, wont detect and wont read
I also tried with flashrom on linux, flashrom and I get this :

I found the data sheet for the chip : [URL="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwixxYjS5vTnAhXMdN8KHfZ0BUEQFjAAegQIARAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.micron.com%2F-%2Fmedia%2Fclient%2Fglobal%2Fdocuments%2Fproducts%2Fdata-sheet%2Fnor-flash%2Fserial-nor%2Fn25q%2Fn25q_128mb_1_8v_65nm.pdf&usg=AOvVaw0YZPhlZqVxtJhOxoNvJL5q"]https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwixxYjS5vTnAhXMdN8KHfZ0BUEQFjAAegQIARAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.micron.com%2F-%2Fmedia%2Fclient%2Fglobal%2Fdocuments%2Fproducts%2Fdata-sheet%2Fnor-flash%2Fserial-nor%2Fn25q%2Fn25q_128mb_1_8v_65nm.pdf&usg=AOvVaw0YZPhlZqVxtJhOxoNvJL5q[/URL]...

    Re: HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

I have a HP Probook 450 G1 that used to have a admin password, I flashed the bios with a clean one to remove the password (using a ch341a).
After that I used the Wndmifit64.exe utility to program the serial number, sku and all that good stuff. after that I locked the mpm with the bat file. but I still have a the "Warning!! Machine is not in committed state". I did boot in EFI shell to run the startup.nsh but the it give me a "cannot determine ME capability". I also tried in dos, running the brand.bat, but it gives me a similar error....
