Hello. I'm an electronics amateur. A friend once brought me a computer monitor to see if I could fix it. I opened it up and found some bad caps, replaced them with ones I had on hand and fixed the monitor! Now I have a big screen tv that suddenly quit. I disassembled it to see if any caps were bad, but visibly, all are good. Hoping I can find some help here. Thanks for adding me!

Been lurking for quite some time, on and off, thought I better say hello. I have be fascinated with all things radio for as long back as I can remember and in order to get my Ham radio licences, I needed to learn. I thought I would learn enough to get my my licences but now it's become my main hobby 👍
I enjoy reading through the forum posts, there is plenty to learn for me.

Hi guys!

New to this world, new to this forum, total newbie.

Based in Edinburgh and trying to get into micro soldering in order to stop saying stuff like "If there's an issue with the motherboard, there's nothing I can do", or "well, since your board won't start, there's no way I can get your data back". I don't have an academic background and have been learning about computers mostly by experience...

I know it's gonna be a long journey but hopefully, with a little patience and many stupid questions, I'll get there!
