    Mitsubishi PTV Convergence issues

I have a question about convergence on this 42" Mitsubishi PTV.
The Red and the blue convergence are not aligning with the Green.
One of the Caps near or on main power, Its specs. 820uF 180v has 108v.
The top is bubbling. The TV turns on and can see a picture on set. But, Red and
blue will not converge properly. Tried reset in system menu red or blue will not move back to defaults.
I have read some other post and seems it might be IC STK392 x 2 amplifier 18 pins.
    Any help?Thanks very much.

If you notice any bulging caps replace them but they are not causing the convergence issue.

Replace both convergence ICs and check all of the the 2 watt resistors around the ICs when the ICs die they can take at least one of them out.

On my Toshiba one of the resistors wasn't open but had a hairline crack on it from overheating when the IC went it even still measured a resistance but it was way too low.

Oh yes and only flameproof resistors should be put here carbon film resistors will smoke and catch fire when overheated.

Make sure that you get REAL Sanyo STK convergence ICs and not knockoffs by buying from only reputable distributors.

Be sure to pick up new heatsink compound wipe the old gook off the heatsinks with alcohol and apply the new.

If you have soldering (and more importantly desoldering) experience this is not too hard if you've never soldered before you will probably do more harm than good unless you practice.

      Thanks alot
Do you know of a Sanyo stk, resistor and heatsink distributor-website?
      Thanks very much.

        There is Encompass Parts:

        http://www.encompassparts.com

        And

        B&D Electronics

        http://www.bdent.com/

There are others but those are two off the top of my head.

Other suppliers selling the ICs for 7-10 bucks are selling rejects or fakes that won't work out of the box or will die shortly afterward.

Heatsink compound can be picked up locally from any computer store either the white stuff or CPU grade will suffice.

Resistors can come from any electronics supplier like Newark, Digikey, or Mouser.
