    RCA chassis ITC222

Fixing a 52" rear projector TV trying to save it for a customer who might want to buy it.

    On some ITC222 chassis boards:
Usually I change the burned 8.7nF located at CL031 because of bad solder joint resulted in arc over and burned both poly capacitor and the trace. This usually fixes this but there must be other damage.

But The unit is intermittently shuts down and picture looks like HV failing when I manage to get TV going. This reminds me of bad connection in HV section but this one is permanently connected. The symptom picture get bigger and shrink instant like something is arcing internally. Even I had co-worker listen for tell-tale arcing but can not hear it at all.

I usually also change the flyback transformer but I'm not sure of this problem because this usually is a dead set that refuses to turn on.

    Help and cheers, Wizard
