    Samsung PLASMA PN50B530S2F DEAD

Hi everyone I have this plasma here that has no standby light and is completely dead. I opened it up to see extremely dirty and dusty to which I cleaned but made no difference. So I checked all fuses good. I checked the standby voltage 5 volts good. Then I did that plasma control board test by shorting the pins(THANKS 2 TVTIMMY) and the tv actually turned on and made a sound. Does this mean I need a new motherboard?

When it turns on, There is a faint ghosting on the horizontal. I'm not sure if that's normal or what is causing that? IGNORE THE PURPLE LIGHT FROM IR ON PHONE.

Ok update. At first It showed no signs of power but now it's acting like it wants to work again even turned on to the static tv screen wow. It actually looked so nice too. I didn't even notice the faint ghosting when it actually displays a image. I think the eeprom is acting erratically so I think best course of action is buy a new eeprom from glorious ebay.

              Re: Samsung PLASMA PN50B530S2F DEAD

A little trick I used for the eeprom was flood both sides of the eepprom chip with lead solder use flux. After both sides were flooded with solder and the board was still warm. I used a heatgun at exactly 500f. Slowly warmed the chip up from a distance then went in for the kill and got closer while maintaing slight pressure with a metal pick so I know when the solder is molten. Once it was slid it off like nothing. Then used desoldering braid on the pads to make them flat. The new chip went in like a breeze.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Greetings to all, a while ago my TV was dead, it didn't turn on and the standby light was off, the next day it is working. But these days it no longer wants to turn on, I did some troubleshooting, I disconnected the main board, I checked the voltage on the backlight and there is 400 DC, when I connect it again the main board the voltage drops, in all that troubleshooting, miraculously the standby light comes on and the TV works. After an hour I check and test, I turn on the TV, the Stanby light flashes 3 times and it...

Samsung 60" Plasma TV, Blinking Standby LED
                by rju
A sports bar/restaurant with ~40 Samsung Plasma TVs. This is the 2nd TV that has a blinking standby LED. I'd like to learn how to repair these TVs because I'd guess that over time more and more of them will develop this symptom. My hope is to repair the bad PCB, however if that's not realistic then I'd replace the bad PCB.

                Model PN60F5300AF, Type PN60F5300, Model Code PN60F5300AFXZA

Upon applying power, the red standby is steady. When I tap the power button, the standby LED immediately blinks twice, then it blinks once ~ every 4 secs. Also, Upon applying power, the...
