hello guys, I have an toshiba 42inch plasma TV. Symptoms are the famous pop of death, tv turns on, no picture but sounds work.

I have narrowed the issue down to the YSUS(6871QYH053B) board because of an open fuse. Caps check ok(ESR meter), transistors check ok. I have believe the problem lies in the STK IC (4921QP1050B). Now I understand there is a design flaw in many STK IC's. My question is; does anyone know a cross reference for this STK IC, particularly an updated part? Or can I just go ahead and order the same model STK IC.

That is the same board in my vizio(lg) the chip I ordered looks a little different around 40.00. You will know it`s bad when you remove it. I broke the plastic with a screwdriver where the screw heads are (under the chip) and removed the heat sink. Then I cut the pins one by one to remove the chip and last unsoldered each pin. The part number is on the heat sink should be the first set of numbers. Type the numbers into ebay. As Wizard said ohm your buffer board since you had blown fuses. My fuses were not blown. I preped the heat sink so I could install the chip then the heat sink. If you are new at this some caution is needed here. There are a few threads on this topic so look areond a bit and good luck
