back light project westing house L2046NV

Hello everyone I Am new to your forum and it has really helped me. I have a project that I really need help on. I have a westing house L2046nv it had the classic 2sec. back lamp problem I wated to long to repair and the power supply is totally toasted. It's got the dac19m-005 ps that are hard to find. Any way after some research I found ps from a view sonic that has a dac12m-033 that I thought would work. The board is the exact size and appears to be pinned correctly with the exception of the 14v volt pin to the video board. It is 12v on this board. The connectors for the back light are different but I believe I can take care of this. I am very good at using a volt meter I need help on voltages and identifying components. I have replaced all the caps on my new used board. The issue is now only two lamps are lighting for 2 sec.very dim and then going off, power light stays green. I am going to try to attatach some pics.
There four componets with 8 pins near the transformers I guessing this some type of switching devise. Any way before powering on monitor I am seeing 23v on one pin, as the monitor powers on and the lamps turn on dimly the voltage drops down to 13v after the 2sec voltage drops to 7v. and the lamps go off.I was reading another thread about checking voltage on the return side of back light and I am seeing 10v when the light is on.
I do not know if this project is possible but with help I would like to try.
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!
Working...
