Samsung un60d6000-led strips

I have removed the display panel on this set. I have two side LED strips on each side of the tv. When I power on the set the LEDs cycle on and off. Half the LEDs are out on each of the 4 strips-2 per side. Seems unlikely the problem is the high voltage section as it seems like a dual symmetrical configuration on the board. LEDs ?
