    Toshiba 40HL933B & DPS-140SP-1 & P/N 0433/007f000 - stuck on standby

    Greetings All,

I have done a few searches and cannot find any details on the above, so apologies in advance if I have missed something.

I have a Toshiba 40HL933B which is currently stuck on standby.

There is a standby light but will not come one.

I am guessing that there is an issue with the PSU DPS-140SP-1 - but cannot find any posts on common faults with this power board (as opposed to a 17PW26-4 which I recently fixed).

Does anyone have any experience of the above TV and/or PSU and give me any ideas on any common issues with either the make and model AND/OR the power board?

    Many, many thanks in advance

    Typical defect for this model:
The TV does not go into operation, the red indicator on the panel is on, the inscription DO NOT POWER OFF SCAN and the scanning scale appear upside down. It passes from 0 to 100% and scans again from 0. And so on in a circle. Sometimes it can turn on and work normally. This is a known glitch from Winbond.
Replacing software from the official website via USB will not help. Flash 25Q64 required.

      Hi lotas

Many thanks for the quick response.

I am a beginner in these matters - so am I right in thinking that I need to replace the flash IC with the number you suggest?

A quick Google brings up plenty of replacement parts.

      Many, many thanks

Yes, replace it with a new one, but before soldering it, you need to write the firmware into it through the programmer.
I'm sharing the firmware dump with you.
