Toshiba 32C120U - CRAPPY speakers or BROKEN speakers?

Whenever someone speaks in a deep voice or there are other generally low sounds being made, the TV seems to "rattle." I'm not sure if the speakers are CRAPPY or BROKEN. I realize TV speakers tend to be meh and the smaller, cheaper the TV, the more meh they are, so I was wondering if there was some way to "test" this out. Can someone give some advice?

Also, does this thing just have a "right" and "left" speaker, or is there a "subwoofer" type assembly included? Testing the right and left speaker using a computer hooked up to it didn't result in the sound coming out differently, but that was just a general left and right, not a bass test. Did it just in case there was a dead giveaway-type static noise on one speaker and not the other, but nothing like that based on that test.

Since they have thinned down tv's so have speakers become smaller and in my opinion have little to no base sound and too much treble. I gave up a few years ago and now use a sound bar.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

you cant expect much from tiny speakers, have you considered maybe running an audio out to a stereo amp and reasonable speakers? i run my living room tv on a pioneer sx1010 and some recapped cs99a's. and its great. not forgetting that there are better pioneer speakers out there

Well, "no base" sounds about like what I'm hearing, so that's reassuring. I was worried the speakers were bad. I guess they just suck from the factory. Perhaps I'll just live with it. It's bad, but not unbearable.

I do have a sound bar I kept from a bigger broken TV I threw out. Perhaps one day I will rewire the TV to use that one. Perhaps not.

        Anyway, thanks for the info.
