  • backlights in tp.vst59s.pc815

can some kind soul tell me how the back light circuit is controlled in this universal combination board. i'm new at this but i know how to use a meter.its almost impossible to work out this circuit tracing solder runs on double sided board. i have figured out that the backlight output is what APPEARS to be a rectified ac output from a transformer.what feeds and controls the input is a mystery.any responses are welcome

considering its age and the NON availability of backlight bulbs here for it. and the fact the speaker surrounds are shot (nonexistent) i do believe the owner will settle for using it in a non hdmi mode, but i do thank you for your input.if it were mine i suppose i'd look on ebay for a used board.unfortunately the shipping to here will be more than the board itself.

The owner had trouble with his cable box and it was replaced maybe the box juiced the hdmi input? whatever it is it must be caused by the standby power im assuming is present on the hdmi input from the modem. thats a guess as it will turn on if it all stays connected and box power supply disconnected .id ask what part that is but no schematics seem to be the norm for tv boards.the factory service manual doesnt even cover the backlight system at all including the lamp ballasts

    panasonic tx32lc60

this set i repaired as it it had a blown main filter cap in the power supply.i went ahead and replaced all the power supply filter caps and two fuse's and all seemed ok/ however if i turn it OFF with the hdmi cable plugged in the tv wont turn on again until i unplug the hdmi cable and turn the set on and then plug hdmi in and it plays uneventfully.the red light blinks twice and then goes out.remote or tv switching is the same. if i use the 3 rca plugs from the cable box its NO problem. if i turn the cable box off with its remote the tv still wont turn on unless the hdmi cable is unplugged.after...

  • Re: low leakage or low impedance caps?

well thank you kindly any of you fellas doing led conversions? im not planning on it as this thing still works at present but will if backlights fail. no cfls here that i can find.the factory service manual is ratcrap as well with no board schematics and they even left out the cfl driver board!! and its a hobby anyway.what impressed me about this set is the build quality in the era bpc (black plastic excrement) and i think its worth keeping around.

you cant expect much from tiny speakers, have you considered maybe running an audio out to a stereo amp and reasonable speakers? i run my living room tv on a pioneer sx1010 and some recapped cs99a's. and its great. not forgetting that there are better pioneer speakers out there

  • low leakage or low impedance caps?

ive been given a panasonic tc32lx60 which to get working only needed the main power supply filter cap changed and two fuses. its a 2006 model with probably beaucoup hours on it, want to recap the whole set as its got only about 30 e caps in it. i went ahead and wrote up a cap values list but i wasnt sure about the types of ecaps that were used. in my audio experience a low impedance cap is used in filter or bypass applications. a low leakage is used in the signal path , theres a variety of types in the set and the nichicons i can figure out but theres some rubycons that were green that im not...

it would seem that the manufacturers go to great lengths to achieve low to zero interchangeability in seemingly, totally interchangeable, in appearance, boards

ive been wondering the same myself on a different tcon in a different set. what i dont know is if the tcon boards are PROGRAMMED differently that MIGHT be the difference. in my case a google search came up empty. soooo i rolled the dice and opened my wallet. now i get to wait a month to find out. given my lack of success guessing on 50-50 odds possibilities in evil soduko puzzles i am not hopeful

yeah i did get into the service menu. from what i could deduce online (my first tv repair, i do tube radios mostly) its the lvds map it has a choice of a number 1-15 ,i think.what i did was put on a movie then got into that menu. while the picture was on i chose each number giving it some time to readjust. it did change things but would not cure solarization

    fukuda FLED 4801dc

this thing is only 3 years old and its dead. given to me by an acquaintance. as the price was right and some study on fixing modern tv's online i quickly deduced that backlites were out and as there was no power at the sockets it must be the combination power supply, mother board. the flashlite test proved that the display worked. the board is a tp.vst59s.pc815. soooo i got on a asian buy and sell site LAZADA and found two boards for 2200 pesos or about 40 bucks. i tried them both but both produced a solarized display but had sound and wouldnt work with the fukuda remote but do with my lg remotes....
