    Samsung PS-42Q96HD PSU Clicking BN44-00194a DYP-42W2PLUS

    Hi folks,

I have this TV PS-42Q96HD DYP-42W2PLUS in for repair, PSU is clicking - cycling every 2 seconds. Have checked all caps with esr meter and and replaced a few that were visibly bulged, reading high, and one that had completely failed. With mains applied, psu starts clicking and Vs is measuring at 304 - 306v (too high, should be 205!) With oscilloscope i can see Vs flies up to 300v+ then falls as relays click out, then climbs again. Disconnecting from the panel, with psu on bench, Have added resistors to back of board to force PSU on and Vs on. Vs then sits up at 304v constantly, no relay cycling. Va is at 63v just as it should be. Has anybody seen this issue before with Vs being well over voltage? Anyone have an idea what it may be? I wonder it there is over voltage protection that is kicking in, hence the click cycling? Is it likely to have damaged the y-sus board?

    Thanks
    Bob

Can you adjust the Vs with VRS401 ? even though the voltage is high does the adjustment work, if not it could be a fault with ics401 reference ic or PCS801 optocoupler

Hi, yes i can adjust Vs with the nearby VR, but it is still sat in the 300v range and i can adjust it within a plus / minus ~15v range. Seems an odd fault this one!

      Thanks Bob

        PSU - BN44-00878A

        Symptoms:

The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.

        Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA

        Progress:

After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I...

Samsung ue55d8000yuxxu turning on/off and clicking

Hello everyone! This is my first thread asking for help and I'm new here so please be nice

I'm trying to repair a Samsung TV but not having much success so I've came across this forum and it seemed kinda nice and friendly. The TV is clicking on/off (relay) and I can't seem to put my finger on the issue. The image looks fine (since I can get a glance at the "Smart TV" logo when it boots). But it's just an endless loop of on/off. If I disconnect the mainboard from the PSU it stops doing the "clicking" sound but that's about it. I've already got a used mainboard...

        Samsung UN60D8000YF Clicking BN44-0432A
        by mikelu53
        I have a UN60D8000YF with a BN44-0432A power supply and a BN41-01622C main board.
The set was working then not, then started clicking.
Wilth the power supply disconnected from the main board I can occasionally get it to power the LED back lights , getting it to stop clicking is luck.
Checked caps and diodes and mosfets the best I could. When it stop clicking there is 5v and 18v on the connector to the main board.
A schematic or suggestion would be great.
        Thanks

        Samsung 46" LCD TV
        Model: LN46A550P3F C
        Model Code: LN46A550P3FXZA

TV off. Standby light flashing and relay on power supply board clicking every few seconds. Press power button and no change.

Unplugged main board from power supply board and clicking stopped. Plugged main board into power supply board but unplugged everything else on main board - still clicking.

Does this indicate a bad main board?

I don't see any visual signs of bad caps, burns, or cracked solder joints on power or main board.

        Thanks...

Samsung PN64H5000 clicking when powered, then stuck in standby
        by meeotch
My PN64H5000 shut itself off/on/off a few times in succession last night, then refused to turn on again. When I first plug it in, I get five clicks coming from the power board, and the red standby light on the front goes on and off, as does the little green LED on the logic board. After that, the red standby light comes on after a couple of seconds and stays lit, but the TV will not power on. Confirmed by leaving it unplugged overnight.

I opened it up, and didn't see any bulging caps, burnt PCBs, or anything else obvious. Tested the two fuses I saw on the power board (one removable,...
