Proscan PDLED3992A firmware or service menu panel type

    Hi all!

I got this PDLED3992A TV for free locally. No standby light. Would not power on. It has a single board inside that controls everything. I bought a replacement off of eBay, but the seller sent me the wrong part (my board is A13082443, they sent A13072083). The LED header for the board was in the wrong position. The seller refunded my money, so I decided to try to take the LED header off my old board and put it on this new board. Well, the TV powers up, but it looks like this board is configured for the wrong panel type (I looked up the part number and this board is designed for a 720p TV, while the one I have is 1080p)

So, I figured I'd poke around the service menu and see if I could change the panel type. I got into the service menu by pressing the menu button on the TV while typing 1147 on the remote. But, alas, I couldn't find the right setting. I didn't want to risk doing things like "Reset panel data" or "Reset firmware" because I wasn't sure what those would doe.

    My questions...
-Does anyone know the right setting to set the correct panel type for my TV?
-Is it possible? Or do I need a new firmware or eeprom?
-If I need a new firmware or eeprom, does anyone know where I can get the firmware? Will that work? Or even if I update the firmware, will I still need a new EEPROM?
-If I need a new EEPROM, does anyone have the correct EEPROM image for this TV?

    THANKS!

The board that the seller sent you is for a different screen type. You can read the screen type below the part number. The one that he sent you is for 32 inch tvs, but your tv is 39 inch. Anyway you can try changing the eeprom it must work. Good luck!

Yes, I know, but what I was getting at is - is it possible to change the screen type in the service menu? Or can I fix it by flashing the firmware for my set to this board through the service menu options? Or does it require completely replacing the EEPROM?
If it requires replacing the EEPROM, does anyone have the EEPROM image? (I have a DediProg and can probably flash it).

Just solder your old eeprom into the board that you recieved from the seller and you are done.

Good idea but I don't have the tools to do SM work. If no one replies with a way to update this new board to work with my TV, I will give it a try.

Anyone?...Anyone? If no other ideas by Saturday I will try swapping the EEPROM.

                QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
                by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....

EIZO CX270 - No signal but Backlight and Panel works, logo works, admin menu works. OSD doesn't. What?!
                by vf fa
Hi, so i guess IΒ΄ll have to make a new topic here, as i browsed through hundreds of other threads but couldn't find a solution to my problem yet.

I got a EIZO CX270 from a friend. He said it doesn't work anymore and wont display any signal or take any OSD inputs. Well, as an aspiring photographer I couldn't say no, could I? Thought it was an easy game, replace a bad cap and have a working monitor. But nooope, it wasn't supposed to be this easy.

So let me start with the problem description. I'll try my best not to skip anything so this might get rather long.

Toshiba 55SL417U looking for EEPROM and Firmware
                by NSkyLab
Hello everyone, I described the symptoms and measurements here
It seems I tried everything, my last idea is that the eeprom or firmware (or both) may be corrupt.
I'm not able to find eeprom and firmware dumps in open sources.
Hoping someone here has access to closed forums or manufacturer's service center resources and can help get those dumps?

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
                by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

                tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....
