Samsung 40MU6300 not playing certain youtube vids anymore?

Hmm... my Samsung 40MU6300 quit playing music videos on that Youtube app. When I got the TV a 6 months back, it was working fine as kind. A while ago something like 6-8 weeks ago, I've noticed that ithe Youtube app quit working properly (had forgotten about it). Well today still same thing... I can play some vids on youtube, but not others... for example any music vid I click, it plays me the damn commercial fine, but will not load the music vid and ends up in an error saying to play a different vid. I did a app reset and that didn't change anything. Had a look to see if there is a new firmware for the TV, but there isn't anything either. So what gives? :shrug: I guess I am getting too old for that kind of crap.

Try going into your Settings >> Application manager and locate the Youtube app. Tap the 'Force stop' button then the 'Clear data' button. That will wipe the app's cache and its settings/config files, essentially returning the app to its original state. Now try using the Youtube app again to see if that made any difference. Might not be able to do it on your tv but worth a try.

if it was a pc i would say codecs .. no idea with tv.s though .

My TV doesn't have the Application Manager in the Settings Menu. But nomoresonys had a pretty good idea.

My fix was: Reset the Samsung Smart Hub in the Settings Menu. After that I had to set up the smart hub again (I skipped the create account part) and everything works A1 again in youtube! Looks like a bit different now than it used to, but I am watching music vids again that I couldn't before.

Hmm... again same thing today. It wouldn't play any music vids on youtube anymore. Had to reset that smart hub crap and download the apps again. After that, it plays all the vids as if nothing had happened.
