    Samsung UN55H7150 - Turn off/On issues...

Its been a while since I've had an opportunity to ask the board for some help but I've started to have some issues with my Samsung TV.

The problem seems to be getting worse where the TV won't turn on/off easily. If I hold down the power button it seems to work but its getting worse and probably time to take a closer look for problems.

The stand by light is on but it just doesn't seem to be responding to the remote even after changing the batteries... I'm thinking power supply issues and if this were an earlier model I would guess bad caps as Samsung TV's were known for that and I repaired an earlier TV doing just that.

Is there any help available for a novice for attempting to repair this TV?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Stupid question but have you tried different remotes with this TV? If I the remotes don't seem to help I would say that you would be to check voltage at IR port. Does this TV have the one single rocker button on the back?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

      Thanks for the quick reply.

I have not tried another remote... going after one now.

It has a push button "joystick" type button on the rear of the panel.

The push button joystick TV is a pain in the ass to turn off. Sometimes if you just press it once it'll show the display on the screen where you can rocker around to the proper setting like power or input sometimes it doesn't do anything and I just have to hold it down for about 8 seconds until the TV turns off. Deal with it all the time on many Samsungs

Id check to make sure your remotes not failing.

They put 8 seconds delay on that joy stick switches so you do not accidentally turn the TV off by just hitting the switch.
The bad part is that they put the switch on the rear panel so it is hard to get to it if the TV is sitting in the tight space.

So, I just wanted to thank you freakaftr8 for making the suggestion to try another remote.. as that seems to haven been the problem.

I was already jumping in to a tear down and should have tried the easiest solution first.

Many thanks you saved my TV.
