    Toshiba Regza 42HL196 Darker center w/ lines

    Hello guys I have a Toshiba REGZA 42HL196 that had the 3 blinking lights and wouldn't turn on. I bought a repair kit from eBay and the tv starts up now but slowly it has developed some horizontal lines and a darker center that used to go away at the beginning after a while but now it does not go away. Any thoughts as to what it can be? I currently do not have a multimeter.

      This now looks like a backlight issue. the parts that were replaced probably went out due the failed backlights. If you continue to work the TV like that those same parts and more may go out again.

          So the backlights can also cause the thin black horizontal lines?

              Good day all,

              I have a Toshiba TV, model 32C100U1 that turns on, displays fine for 5 min, sometimes 10 min and even 25 min then it starts to show double image, wrong colours together with lines as seen in the attached. I have measured and documented the tcon voltages both when the Television works fine and when the problems described occurs. It is important to note that the voltages are the same on the tcon board.
