    EMERSON LF320EM4 A (serial number ME7 - TYPE F)

    Hello all,

I have been trying to troubleshoot this Emerson TV and have not had any success. I would really appreciate any guidance as I am stuck on what to check next.

The issue is that the TV will enter standby mode with solid red LED light on front of unit after being plugged in. When pressing power-on button the red LED will flash 3 times and then power off and return to standby mode with a constant red LED.

I have tried working my way through the service manual and am stuck. On page 26 of attached service manual I am following FLOW CHART NO. 1. I have checked all components except T601. I am not sure how to check the transformer. Is it possible?

Tools available to me are a DMM and a Blue ESR meter.

I have also checked most of the capacitors on the board and they all are within range. (Assuming .15 would be acceptable for 330uf 200v cap?)

    Here are the other components I've tested - D650, D651, D653, D655, IC602, Q1001, Q1003.

Referencing FLOW CHART NO.5 from the service manual, I am unsure what the correct procedure is to check P-ON-21V. It states "Is approximately +21V voltage supplied to the cathode of D650(D651)? My question is should I be checking this in standby mode or power on?

D650 is around 13.5v DC in standby mode and jumps to about 18.5 for a few sounds when I try to power on the TV.

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

**Note that my TV is TYPE F in service manual.

I've got the same problem with the same model TV. My readings match yours exactly. Did you have any success with troubleshooting this? I'm going to pursue this more tonight.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
      by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
      by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

      UART (serial ?) splitter ?
      by Dannyx
Good day folks. I got a project on hand and would like some thoughts on whether it's possible to achieve, albeit impractical. You know me - I like to over-complicate stuff

The setup: I got a Paradox EVO192 alarm panel, a serial-to-ethernet adapter and an official PCS250 GSM communicator.

The task (TL/DR): connecting both the ethernet adapter AND the communicator to the single serial port of the Paradox panel. Connecting their TX/RX lines in parallel the data would get all messed up. At the very most, I THINK I could parallel the RX pins of the ethernet adapter...

      Samsung BN44-00259A standby question
      by Crystaleyes
      Hi all.

I started a thread while back regarding TV power supply standby circuitry as it is something I am not quite on top of.
SMPS theory and function is becoming more familiar, however the standby part is still a bit of a mystery.

Anyway, a friend has this TV with the above mentioned power supply board which has no standby voltage, nor any other voltages leaving the board.
The mains AC comes in fine, gets filtered and rectified with power is on the main filter cap as well as the transformer and drain pins of the ICE3B0665J, but that's it.

Lenovo T490 - motherboard serial - windows licence lost - after corrupt bios chip replacement
      by baletak
      Hi,
had T490 with faulty bios chip. Bought chip out of ebay and soldered on. Laptop starts and works however serial numbers of laptop and motherboard do not match.
I have updated laptop model number.

      1) I did not find the way to update laptop serial number - I have this one.
      2) I dont know where to get my motherboard serial number and how to update it. Is it somewhere physically on the mainboard? How do I update it?

Hope to find someone to help me with this as I am hitting dead end at the moment.

      Many thanks

      Miro
