Here I Sit, Losing my mind. Haha. Samsung Pn51d550c1fxza

    Make: Samsung
    Model: PN51D550C1FXZA
    Size: 51
    Type: Plasma

    Issue:

    Plug in, Clicks.
    LED Powerlight on front blinks.

    After short time clicking stops.

Tv is apart. On table. I'm now lost in trying to diagnose this issue.

if anyone knows how to diagnose how to fix the Xsus if that in fact is the culprit here are attached photos

I have tones of other parts I can take parts off of.

first photo there is some damage to back of board not sure if it will effect anything

1st picture looks as though it's just a poor solder joint that needs soldering.

You could use your meter set to ohms and check what resistance you have between the pins of the two white connectors to ground.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Do you have a soldering iron, also a multimeter and know how to use it?

Yes I do have a soldiering iron, also yes I have a multi meter but not 100% familiar with it

I have attached a picture of the meter, if you are able to edit it and let me know what settings are what, we can move forward and I can try to assess this situation.

Best start with some basic checks.
With the board disconnected as shown in Picture 2 check the resistance between each pin in turn on the two white connectors.
Use red meter probe to test pins and connect black meter probe to a GND (Ground) connection.

I believe there are labels printed alongside the pins.
Example 5V, VA, VS, RL_ON , GND, etc

Select 200 ohms range and with the black lead on any of the pins marked GND use the red lead and check all each pin on each of the two white connectors and note the readings.

                1. vs - 3.5
                2. vs - 3.5
                3. ve_in - nothing
                4. GND

bottom white connector only has 12. and no legend on what is what.

Ps just tested the ERC pins and they read 190.4

So the VS pins are showing 3.5 ohms?

It looks as though you have a short circuit (near enough) on that line.

What voltage is VS when you read it off the label from the back of the plasma panel.
Can you post pictures of the front and back of the circuit board as attachments (so they are bigger) to view showing the devices mounted on the heatsinks. There's every possibility that one or more may be damaged.

The pictures really don't open up to read anything on them.

If you set your meter to diode mode ---:>!-- check the devices that are mounted on the heatsinks and look for a short circuit (low reading) between any two pins of each device.

                                      No, I don't sorry.

Unsolder the ones that read 002 and check again out of circuit. I suspect they are all short circuited.

What are the part numbers written on the devices fitted to the heatsink

When you are not familiar with the set, pictures are worth a thousand words.

Can you photograph the devices fixed to the heatsink.
