    samsung le32r73 picture problems

    Hi folks
    The above TV startedhaving picture problems. After a few mins of use the picture would start breaking up until eventually it would freeze or go black
    I took the back opp and 1 bad cap on the psu near the mainboard connector. I replaced that but after a few mins the cap bulged again and the picture went soon after. I replaced the cap again with a higher rated 1 and the tv worked came on and worked fine for about half an hourbut had no sound this time and then the picture went again.
    Ive not had chance to take the back off again but im thinking the mainboard is at fault but could the mainboard cause the psu to fail?

      Test the Opto-isolators...one of them may be not sending feedback to the Power IC to regulate the voltage.

          Thanks for the pointer. I got hold of a working psu and fitted that but the problem persists so suspicion now falls on the mainboard.
          As the picture is fine for a while from cold its looking like its heat related so the 1st thing I was going to do was take out the mainboard and look for dry solder joints. Is there anything which could cause the TV to fail once its warmed up? Cheers

              Hello everyone,
              Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
              The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
              He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
              I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
              Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

              This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

              Problem
              TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

              I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
