I have this Sony TV that I purchased in late 2009. I started getting horizontal lines one one side of the screen and the other side is all black. If I disconnect the T-conn then I get white. The TV stays on and if I recall the red LED blinking sequence, I get 14 blinks. I've read that this could be either the T-conn or the LCD itself. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Re: Sony KDL-40VL160 T-Conn or LCD
Is that for both sides??
Measure and report these voltages on your T-CON Bd. In brackets are what you could expect.
Vcc (5Vo12V) on both sides of the fuse F1
Von (20V~30V) may see it as VGON,VGH, VDDG
Voff (-5V~-8V) may see it as VOFF, VGL, VEEG
Vdd (3.3V) may see it as VLOGIC, VDDD, DVDD
Vda (13V~20V) may see it as AVDD, VDDA, V Source
If these voltages are OK you have a bad Panel. If they anot good, try a new T-CON Bd.
