Make sure your connecting the traces properly, connecting the cathode of the Led to the input of the next one in the chain.

There are full instructions with the LED repair kit, for testing and replacement.follow them and you should have no problems , but as I said you can check each strip of nine with the use of three 9v batteries after fitting the LEDs, before rebuilding the set

Sorted (I think). My dodgy soldering again!

Managed to rig up the LEDs to test on the bench and carried on testing after each stage of putting it back together.
Just about to take it upstairs and plug everything back in to it.

Flocko, I think the problem was that I had to cut quite a bit off the LED strips because they're so close together on this TV. When I soldered wires back on, I obviously wasn't making a decent connection with the solder. I also wasn't checking the connection through the remaining LEDs and my repairs, if that makes sense.
Hopefully I'll be able to upload a pic here to show you. I also covered the solder joints in wire glue, just to be sure.

Sorry I did not think, I would have made some smaller ones that could have fitted better for you. You got there in the end and they look fine ,yes the traces are a little small but you have done a good job .

i would remove the white connectors that join the LED strips to the green board and solder the contacts as well, just bridge with a wire and solder in place.

+1 I always do this, as the green connectors have a habit of breaking down causing intermittent backlight.
