Fixed a Toshiba 37" LCD with a bad panel by cutting a tab driver off!

I had a 37" Toshiba with an LG LCD panel. Common issue with horizontal banding, the bottom right gate driver was bad.

Got the TV for free, so I thought what do I have to lose. Took a Stanley knife to the bottom right driver and chopped the bottom corner of it off. What do you know, it works perfect! Thinking of the 70" and 80" Sharp panels here, and how other people fix issues with them.

This works because the left hand driver takes the rest of the panel drive. I think it may not last that long, but the TV will only go in the hackspace as a spare.

Interestingly, the bottom right driver was causing the second-from-the-bottom driver to also go bad, it was flickering on a few of the rows.

Only works on panels with drivers on both sides of the panels...even then it's at your risk...but if you've nothing to lose, worth a shot!!

Nice work, shame all tab driver faults are not this easy. Older Lg panels are ok but the ones with GIG drivers are fucking crap alot of failures. Good job Tom
