So my Samsung UN46FH6030F started flickering uncontrollably last week and I'm bound and determined that it cannot be the LED's themselves. I know its a possibility, but I'm really hoping its the power supply/LED driver board. I've done some preliminary tests with my DMM to the PSU at the panel connection terminal labeled CNL802. I tested pin 1 (M1+), 4 (M2+), 7 (M3+), and 10 (M4+). The readings with and without the panel plugged in are troubling me and steering me towards the panel LED's being bad, but I'd love to know for sure before I just give up on the TV set. I watched a shopjimmy video specifically on my board showing to take these measurements from these pins and they say the voltage should be ~40 VDC. In their video they measured 39.62 pretty consistently across all pins. When the plug is removed from the terminal, the voltage spikes to 53 VDC in the video. Mine does the same thing with the exception I'm reading 43 VDC with the panel plugged in, and 53 VDC with it unplugged. I'll absolutely buy a new power board, but I'd love to know for sure its needed. Does anyone have a service manual or something to point me in another direction to verify panel or PS failure? Would there be a pulsating voltage that can be measured somewhere on the PS when the flickering is happening? I know it's a backlight/LED issue, not a photo or video input problem. Are my readings of 43 VDC higher than they should be if "normal" is 39-40? I also forgot to mention the shop jimmy video wasn't specifically about flickering, it was about the panel shutting down or backlights going black, which mine are NOT doing. The makes me think the PS LED driver has malfuctioned in some way. I've searched for a couple days straight on this topic and have honestly found no resolution except for the older LN model TV's, some folks were having success cutting a jumper on the PS that was supposed to be separated from the factory. This obviously doesn't apply to these newer models, but it trips me out how many of these problems I've read about online, with the newer UN model LED TV's, yet I haven't really found a thread that said definitively "this fixed my flicker". Please help guys...Thanks a million!

I'm sorry but it's gonna be one (or more) of the LEDs.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company. -

I'd take that panel apart and check the LED's.
LED's are current driven, not voltage. So you got 3V more than the set at SJ. So I think there is something wrong with one of the LED's in the backlight. The PSU itself if fine.Comment
