Ok, let me try this again. I'm sticking the piece of wire into the cable side of the connector with it still plugged in. Better readings.. (Sorry this is new to me)

    Pin 2 - 0.9v
    Pin 4 - 12.8v
    Pin 6 - can't get proper reading
    Pin 8 - 0v
    Pin 12 - 5.3v
    Pin 14 - 3.3v

I *think* this tells me the PSU is ok.

It looks as though the power supply is working but knowing Pin 6 (Backlights ON) voltage at switch on out of standby would be helpful. Can you measure it on the bottom of the board.

If anyone else can offer some advice here I'm sure the OP would be grateful for your assistance.

Can you disconnect the main board from the power supply and connect the 5V (pin 12) using a 1K resistor to BLU_ON (Pin6) and see if the backlights come on.

Ok I'll try that. Any tips on how to go about it so I don't accidentally hit another pin? My hands aren't as steady as they used to be.

Meanwhile, if I have to order a replacement main board, which numbers have to match? I've found a couple with the same model number, but have slightly different numbers on the bottom of the label:

BN94-06711J, whereas mine is BN94-06880A. The other label number matches though with BN97-06298N

You can connect the resistors between the pins by soldering them to the underside of the board and make sure the legs are not touching anything else eg the chassis.

Hi, sorry for not following up sooner. I just installed a replacement board and it's the same thing, blinking red light, no power.
