Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
There is a video in the first post. Do you want a video of the current board?
I have tried disconnecting the flat cables, IIRC the picture went snowy. I can try it again this week.Last edited by MadeJust; 08-20-2018, 06:34 PM.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
First replacement I got from them had the same problem but to a lesser extent. This one would start by cycling through solid colors, then the glitchy and stuttering picture with distorted colors and images. After a few cycles of distortion it would work.
I asked if it was possible I just got a dud. They said it was possible and sent me another one. This one distorts slightly for 15-20 seconds only in the lower 1/3 of the screen, then works ok. There is a slight difference with the last letter on the model number being a different letter...Last edited by MadeJust; 08-20-2018, 08:08 AM.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
I emailed them and asked if it was the correct part. They asked me for the number directly below the barcode. They got back to me saying it wasnt compatible, but then gave me a link to the correct part.
So it's ordered and I should have it by the end of the next week (hopefully).
Fingers crossed!

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Oh crap, does the W have to be in the model number as well??
Zooming in, all the components look the same except for the Samsung chip, which mine shows VTU61B1, and the one I ordered shows VTU61B2.Last edited by MadeJust; 07-25-2018, 02:06 PM.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Ok, the one I bought only listed the board no. so I thought that's what I had to match it to. Fortunately, I got a refund.
I have found one in the UK, this one here: https://spares2repair.co.uk/hitachi-48hk6t64u-t-con-lj94-33059h-lmc480fn02-fu11bpcmta3v0.1
It shows it for a different TV, however both numbers match, so I ordered one. Around $50CDN shipped, which about the most I wanted to spend on one, so that's good.
I'll post an update once it's arrived and I've had a chance to test it out.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Well, it did it again.
So I swapped out the tcon board with the replacement, and this is what it looks like now (1st pic).
The boards have the same model number, yet the replacement has an extra connector. Could that be the problem?
My board is the 2nd pic, the replacement is the 3rd....

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Well so far it hasn't done it again. I've even tried using it while running the AC and it's still fine. Really strange.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Well, it's been on for a couple hours now, and so far the display only went dark for about 10 sec, roughly 15 mins in, then has been fine since.
I dont get it. Is there any chance sharing the power source with a window AC unit (5000btu) cause it to do that? Right now its turned off.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
Correct.
I posted here because I'd figure I'd get more help. Been so helpful feedback so far.
I bought it for cheap, so it's not a big loss, but still disappointing if I can't fix it, and it's no fun throwing money away either.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
lol, well that would suck. Hopefully that's not the issue. Csnt really afford to be throwing money away. I didn't mention it in my original post, but I just bought this used from someone who said it worked fine.

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
I've seen a number of people say bad tcons only cause vertical lines, so this is good news if I did order the right part. Its out for delivery today, so I'll install it tonight and see if the problems fixed.
Thanks for the feedback

Re: RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
I havent gotten the tcon board yet, its still on it's way. I hope that is the issue, that would be a relief considering g the board only cost me $30.

RCA RTU4853 - wonky video
So I think I already know the answer to this, but I thought I'd get some opinions just in case.
After about 10-15 mins the picture on my TV goes crazy. First it goes blank for a few seconds, then comes back on flashing and stuttering with various colors and lines. The sound still works while it's doing this.
If I shut the tv off and turn it back on, it goes back to normal, but does the same thing again.
Here is a video of it:

I forgot which board I would need and went ahead and bought a t-con...

Re: Samsung 46EH5300 - Red LED blinks at single intervals, won't turn on
Ok I'll try that. Any tips on how to go about it so I don't accidentally hit another pin? My hands aren't as steady as they used to be.
Meanwhile, if I have to order a replacement main board, which numbers have to match? I've found a couple with the same model number, but have slightly different numbers on the bottom of the label:
BN94-06711J, whereas mine is BN94-06880A. The other label number matches though with BN97-06298NLast edited by MadeJust; 04-15-2016, 06:39 PM.

Re: Samsung 46EH5300 - Red LED blinks at single intervals, won't turn on
Ok, let me try this again. I'm sticking the piece of wire into the cable side of the connector with it still plugged in. Better readings.. (Sorry this is new to me)
Pin 2 - 0.9v
Pin 4 - 12.8v
Pin 6 - can't get proper reading
Pin 8 - 0v
Pin 12 - 5.3v
Pin 14 - 3.3v
