    Samsung LE32R88BDX - "Mura"

    Hello,
The LCD panel is suffering from a condition which I believe is called Mura.
Has anyone found a way to minimise the effect other than taking the backlights down to a low level.
    Thanks

I think you are right about Mura, but have seen similar with nicotine deposit build up within the panel, and a good clean within sorts that one out, probably a overbaked screen.Apologies for not being more helpful. But good luck!

I have had this were someone has put there home in storage and the screen has had something laid on it,and damaged the LCD,no matter what you do apart from lowering the back-lights or contrast will work, it will still be there just will not show so bad.

I have the 37" version of this Tv in my living room. The Lcd is a Cmo and its getting this effect slowly I took it apart and the effect is on the Lcd screen its self. Guessing the Tft is wearing out. I out a packet of frozen peas on the screen for a hour and its sorted lol

You can try taking the Lcd screen apart to see if there is dust between the Lcd and diffusion layers if there is no dust on the Lcd and the effect is caused by the Lcd screen try the "bacon" trick to see if it will sort it.

            Hello Reeceyburger123
I've read of the ice cold pack but to be honest although I haven't tried it on this set I've not been successful on other sets that I've had suffering this effect.
However I am interested in your method of leaving it for a period of time rather than just gently rubbing the affected area.
            Thanks

              Update.

Packed a cold compress from the freezer on the panel and spent some time trying to remove the blooming. Although it would reduce, it returned slowly as the LCD panel warmed up. Gave up and put it away in a corner where it's been for the last 3/4 weeks.

Just getting ready to strip it down for parts but decided to check that everything was still working.

To my surprise the "mura" has vanished!!!! The set has been on for a few hours now and the screen is still clear of the dark blooming.

Can anyone think of a reason why?
