Samsung CS21K40MJ presented with partial frame. Zener diode DZ305 on -16v supply rail to frame output ic was short circuit & feed resistor R413 0.47 ohm resistor was open circuit. Replaced DZ305 with 18v zener (original was MTZJ24B/ 19v). Replaced R413 with 1 ohm resistor. Frame now full/okay. However once warmed up,although the picture is good, the frame output ic heat sink seems VERY HOT.
The Frame output ic has a +16v & -16v supply.
Both supply rails have MTZJ24B/ 19v zeners, guessing this protects ic from over voltage? and the 1 ohm feed resistor instead of the 0.47 ohm im guessing shouldn't be an issue. The measured voltages are actually -14 & 14 volts.
Should frame output run so hot???
